SUMMARY:EALAC MA Career Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Friday\, March 10\, 12 pm – 1 pm EST\, Kent 403 \nCoffee and pastries will be served. \nWe will have three speakers for the workshop: \n1) Rachel Bernard\, Director of GSAS COMPASS Graduate Career Development (Compass). \nRachel will introduce the COMPASS services\, which many of you are using. \n2) Xun Zheng\, a current PhD student in Japanese film and Media who was in our MA program from 2018 to 2020. Before re-joining the EALAC graduate program\, Xun spent a year at the IUC Japanese program and another year working for the Thinkingdom publishing house in Beijing as a marketing researcher. \nXun will talk about making decisions between graduate school and a job as well as how to use the gap years between the MA and PhD studies productively. \n3) Josh Gottesman\, an Associate Director at Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF). Josh has spent the last four years at MJFF. As Associate Director\, Research Data\, he leads efforts to build communities around\, increase access to\, and improve the usability of Parkinson’s research data.
