SUMMARY:Graduate Student Teaching Orientation Debrief Session (IN PERSON)
DESCRIPTION:\nAre you a graduate student teaching for the first time\, or looking for guidance on how to prepare for your first week of classes? If you haven’t done so already\, enroll in the Teaching Orientation for Graduate Students\, organized by the Center for Teaching and Learning at this link to access resources on the following topics: \n\nEstablishing instructional goals and an inclusive learning climate\nOverview of TA roles and teaching support\nCreating a policy sheet and first day of class plan\nCommon TA challenges and campus resources to help navigate them\nNext steps for teaching and professional development\n\nOnce you’ve completed these modules\, we invite you to join the CTL for this 60-minute\, in-person session on September 10th to debrief big ideas from the Orientation modules\, think about the application of these ideas to your specific teaching practice\, get feedback about materials you’ve prepared for the first day of classes\, and ask burning questions you have about teaching this semester. Completion of the online modules is strongly encouraged prior to joining this session in order to ensure meaningful participation in planned activities.
