SUMMARY:Innovative Course Design Seminar (For Graduate Students)
DESCRIPTION:\nAre you interested in designing a syllabus for a course to meet the teaching challenges of today and tomorrow? Are you approaching the job market and looking to demonstrate how you approach teaching within your discipline by creating a syllabus? Apply to the Innovative Course Design Seminar to explore inclusive\, evidence-based instructional design practices and create a learner-centered syllabus of your own design. Throughout the 5 meetings and modules\, you will design a course to meet the teaching needs you are seeing in your discipline today. \nThis in-person seminar is presented as a learning community in which participants give and receive peer feedback on in- and out-of-class assignments alongside other asynchronous activities. Participants who attend all workshops and complete all assignments will receive a letter from the CTL certifying completion. Completion of this seminar also fulfills the Intensive Seminar requirement of the Advanced Track of the Teaching Development Program. \nMeetings will be on the following Thursdays from 10:10am-12pm in Butler Library. \n\nSession 1 on 10/10\nSession 2 on 10/17\nSession 3 on 10/24\nSession 4 on 10/31\nSession 5 on 11/7\n\nApplications will be accepted from Tuesday\, September 3rd – Monday\, September 23rd.
