SUMMARY:Teachers' Lounge | Intercultural Pedagogy and the Pandemic
DESCRIPTION:\nWhat are key elements of intercultural pedagogy\, and in what ways have they been challenged by the disruptions of COVID-19? Join us to review established models of “intercultural competence” in the classroom\, and to consider their ongoing pertinence to engaging students across cultural differences in the current moment. \nTeachers’ Lounges are a series of informal discussions for graduate students about teaching practices and the culture of learning at Columbia. This session is the first of a series organized by the theme Intercultural Pedagogy Now. Materials from previous Teachers’ Lounge sessions are available to Columbia affiliates. \nThis session is online and facilitated by Mark Phillipson from the Center for Teaching and Learning. \n\nColumbia University makes every effort to accommodate individuals with disabilities. Contact CTLgrads@columbia.edu for accommodations. This event may be photographed. For concerns\, contact CTLgrads@columbia.edu\nEvent Contact Information:\nCTL Graduate Student Support\nCTLgrads@columbia.edu\n\n\nRegister with my Columbia UNI\n\n\n
