Teaching a Research Seminar (Graduate Students)
01/22/2024 @ 2:40 pm - 3:50 pm
The online Teaching as Research Seminar (TaRS) trains participants to assess the impact of teaching interventions in the classroom. Over the course of these five asynchronous modules, participants gain proficiency in the Teaching as Research (TaR) method by defining an original research question, exploring data collection and assessment tools, and drawing on the support of peers and the instructor to draft a complete TaR proposal. The seminar culminates in the presentation of these proposals to the seminar cohort.
TaRS will run online from January 22 to March 3. While the seminar is running, modules will be activated weekly, and participants can work through them on their own schedule. The online kickoff meeting on Monday, January 22 at 2:40pm ET will give an opportunity for participants to meet the facilitator and each other as they start the seminar.
Applications to participate in TaRS will be open from January 2 to January 16. To apply, and for more information about the seminar, please see the TaRS page on the CTL website.
