Nguyen Trong Khang is the Founder and Chairman of MK Group, one of Vietnam’s leading smart card and digital identity technology companies. With more than 25 years of experience in digital security and high-tech manufacturing, he is widely recognized as a pioneer of Vietnam’s smart card industry.

Under his leadership, MK Group has produced more than 120 million chip-based electronic ID cards and 15 million chip-based passports, playing a central role in Vietnam’s national digital identity infrastructure. The Group has also expanded internationally, including investments in three defense technology companies in South Africa, strengthening its footprint in advanced security and aerospace sectors.

A strong advocate of mastering “core technologies” to ensure national technological autonomy, Mr. Khang has broadened the Group’s activities into cybersecurity, biometric authentication, blockchain security, and defense technology. He is also building MK Vision, an AI-powered camera and smart surveillance platform, with ambitions to scale to hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue.

Mr. Khang holds seven US patents across multiple high-tech sectors and earned his MBA from Boise State University (USA), where the idea for MK Group was first conceived. Today, the company operates manufacturing facilities in Vietnam, Brazil, and Ethiopia.
