Assessment and Grading with Columbia Tools

Using digital tools to assess and grade can make your work more manageable. In addition, planning your assessments in advance and sharing them with your students helps your students choose appropriate learning strategies and make better use of feedback. Join the CTL in exploring assignments, quizzes, and the gradebook in CourseWorks as well as a newly available tool, Gradescope. This workshop will give you an overview of the tools available to you to assess your students and meet the demands of online, hybrid and face-to-face assessment.

By the end of the session, participants should be able to: 

• Determine which CourseWorks assessment tools will meet the teaching and learning goals of their course(s).
• Plan to intentionally integrate any of the Columbia assessment and grading tools into their course(s).
