There will be two identical library orientation session for Japanese Studies. These sessions will take place at Butler 306 on Friday December 6, 2019.

■ Session 1:  1:00-2:30
■ Session 2:  3:30-5:00
Please let me know which session you prefer to attend. If you have no preference and can attend either session, please also let me know. Butler 306 has 18 workstations and I am hoping everybody can have access to a PC during this session. If necessary, I will plan a follow-up session or do the same session again at the beginning of spring semester.
Each session will be roughly 90 minutes. I am saving an extra 30 minutes after each session in case any of you have some specific questions.
<文藝春秋 trial>
“Bungei shunju archives https://japanknowledge.com/file/brochure/bungeisyunju_archives.pdf” is now available as a new Japan Knowledge Select database. I asked for its trial and it is available at http://www.columbia.edu/cgi-bin/cul/resolve?clio5998333.
Please check 本棚/ Book Shelf tab for browsing once you log in to Japan Knowledge. Or select 詳細(個別)検索/ Advanced Search to search the resource. 本文検索 seems to work fairly well and so far 新字/旧字 issue doesn’t seem to affect my searches. I will eventually acquire and add this as the newest JK Select content, meanwhile trial enables us to use it during the orientation session.
