With an incoming administration in Washington and new representatives to the UN, the nascent “relationship” between North Korea and the US is likely to undergo a change. Recent discourse has been focused on what this means for the future of denuclearization, yet is there reason to believe that the incoming administration might refocus attention on human rights? What can we expect as to the role of human rights in domestic and international policies, including sanctions and accountability, on North Korea?
