PhD Workshop: Preparing for the Academic Job Market

EALAC will hold a “PhD Workshop: Preparing for the Academic Job Market” via Zoom next Wednesday, November 11th, 11:00am-12:00pm. We will be joined by the EALAC Department Chair – Haruo Shirane, Prof. Robert Hymes, Prof. Gregory Pflugfelder, and Prof. Gray Tuttle. They will be available to review the job application process, tips for assembling the necessary dossier materials, preparing for interviews, and other aspects of the academic search process.

This workshop is primarily intended for advanced PhD students who are preparing for the job market, but any interested PhD students in the EALAC, History-East Asia, or East Asian Religion joint programs may attend. Interested students must RSVP to Amber Adams (aa4617@columbia.edu) no later than 5:00pm on Tuesday, November 10th, in order to attend.  A Zoom link will be provided in advance of the workshop on Wednesday morning.
