Teachers’ Lounge | Intercultural Pedagogy and the Pandemic

02/03/2022 @ 10:00 am - 1:30 pm

What are key elements of intercultural pedagogy, and in what ways have they been challenged by the disruptions of COVID-19? Join us to review established models of “intercultural competence” in the classroom, and to consider their ongoing pertinence to engaging students across cultural differences in the current moment.

Teachers’ Lounges are a series of informal discussions for graduate students about teaching practices and the culture of learning at Columbia. This session is the first of a series organized by the theme Intercultural Pedagogy NowMaterials from previous Teachers’ Lounge sessions are available to Columbia affiliates.

This session is online and facilitated by Mark Phillipson from the Center for Teaching and Learning.
