Undergraduate Career Workshop

Please join us on Thursday, April 15th from 6:00PM- 7:00PM for our first undergraduate career workshop!
The guest speaker will be Norman Hanson (‘CC79), who is a distinguished EALAC alum and arguably considered one of the first graduates of the EALAC department. After graduating, Norman Hanson has continued to support the EALAC department through the years and is the sponsor of the Oscar Lee Award and Symposium for Senior Thesis Writers.
During this workshop, Norman Hanson will share his career experiences and offer words of advice and encouragement to future graduates. We encourage all EALAC undergraduate students to attend.
Guest speaker bio
Norman Hanson is a native New Yorker who came to Columbia in 1975 as a premed, and left in 1982 with a law degree and a degree in East Asian Languages and Literature. He practiced patent law until 2021 when he retired. He now attends graduate school part time, hoping to get a Master’s in Food Studies before the 22nd century.
