Vietnamese Language Program – Courses Levels

Elementary Vietnamese: the goal of the beginning Vietnamese sequence (Viet W1101 & Viet W1102) is to help students develop an active command of the language. Emphasis is placed on acquiring the four language skills–listening, speaking, reading and writing — within a cultural context, in order to achieve basic communicative proficiency. Students will have dictations in class to apply these four language skills in a practical way.

Intermediate Vietnamese: This sequence (Viet W1201 & Viet W1202)is a continuation of the Elementary Vietnamese. Its goal is to strengthen students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills with dictations and compositions related to Vietnamese culture and society.
